What makes it engaging.
I truly enjoyed that I could not drop it once I picked it up. To learn about the culture of my people fascinatingly was worth it. I did not think I would connect with a culture that was close to home as I did with this book. It took me back to the nostalgia of reading the Harry Potter books. At that time, I identified as a Hogwarts student of Gryffindor!. I was also amazed by how she could conjure up places, characters names, a narration of the past with such creativity. It was quite a captivating read, and it kept me guessing till the very end. I revelled the suspense to the max.
What would I want differently?
I would have wanted this to be just one story, not a series. Call me a hopeless romantic, but I loved how it ended. I lived for every characters’ love story passionately, so you can understand my apprehension knowing there is another book. I am scared to discover the fate of the couples created in the first book. Then again, this is just my take, and maybe the love stories will stay the same. Who knows, I might come to enjoy the second even more than the first book. After all, I got to experience, firsthand, the incredible talent of Tomi Adeyemi when it comes to creating and weaving a fantastic story.
So, if you want to go on a journey and if you would like to relax and enjoy a well-written book. Then Tomi Adeyemi’s Children of bold and bones is a must-have in your library.
